Sometimes it seems that I live to knit. I ride the bus to and from work every day and knit the whole time. I have my ipod and I knit and relax.
This ritual started a few years back when I started riding the bus. It drove me crazy at first to be sitting there on the bus when I just freaking' wanted to be home. The traffic drove me nuts; the rattling noises drove me nuts. I was starting to get really stressed! Then one day I just thought it sure has been a while since I knit anything...
The rest, as the saying goes, was history. I had to knit small things with circular needles or double pointed needles. There isn't a lot of room for pointy elbows and even pointier needles.
First I knit socks but this became frustrating because socks disappear and there is nothing more depressing than having one hand knit sock and not being able to find its twin!
So, I started knitting doll sweaters. They are perfect little projects. I can use expensive yarn but it still doesn't cost too much 'cause I only need one skein.
Because I am left-handed sometimes knitting directions take all the fun out of knitting trying to do everything backwards. (Don't get me started on this subject as I have a real attitude about right-handed people who believe that I could--and should--knit right-handed. I just can't.) My solution is that I design my own patterns. I have sold sweaters on ebay and by commission. The first time one of my sweaters sold on ebay I was so hyper and happy.
I wanted to post some pictures but I searched my computer and could not find any. Then I remembered that all the pictures had been taken before my previous hard drive crashed. Darn! But Kirk came to the rescue. The coolest thing was that he even had saved screen shots of some of the sweaters I had sold on ebay. The pictures of the posts are huge, so I won't be putting those up but here are some of my doll sweaters..
